DCD16 is pleased to announce the following keynote speakers:

Professor Anna Barnett

Professor of Psychology, Centre for Psychological Research, Oxford Brookes University

Prof Barnett gained her first degree in Psychology and Physical Education at the University College of North Wales, Bangor and PhD at the Institute of Education, University of London. She was a Research Fellow at the Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College London, University College London and at the University of Oxford, before joining Oxford Brookes University in 2004. 

Prof Barnett has studied DCD across the lifespan, from neonatal predictors, progression through childhood, to impact in adulthood. Her work has considered the diagnosis of DCD, the perceptual-motor challenges and exploration of the genetic contribution to motor difficulties. She has developed assessment tools that are used around the world, including the popular Movement ABC-3 Test and Checklist that span the age range 3 to 25 years. Prof Barnett has also developed the Detailed Assessment of the Speed of Handwriting – 2nd Edition (DASH-2) and other tools to assess aspects of writing, handwriting and typing – important skills in education and the workplace.

Jing Hua, MD, PhD

Chief Physician, Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics, Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Hospital Director, Women and Children’s Health Care Department, Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Hospital Professor, School of Medicine, Tongji University, Shanghai

Dr. Hua serves as Professor and Chief Physician in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics, as well as PhD Supervisor in Pediatrics. She is also a co-supervisor of the Sino-UK Joint PhD Program and has held a visiting scholar appointment at the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, USA.

She has been Principal Investigator of three projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and more than ten provincial or ministerial-level grants. She has published over 160 peer-reviewed articles as first or corresponding author, including more than 70 indexed in SCI, with a single paper impact factor exceeding 30.

As first contributor, Dr. Hua has received multiple academic awards, including the Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award and the Third Prize of the National Maternal and Child Health Science and Technology Award.
